Y&S will share with us the emotions of the adventurous Barcelona World Race 2011 started on New Year’s Eve in Barcelona, Spain, and circumnavigating the world in a non-stop competition covering 25,000 nautical miles. The eventual is expected to return to Barcelona between March and April, after having passed the isle of Gibraltar, the Cape of Good Hope (South Africa), the Cook Strait (New Zealand) and Cape Horn (Chile) on its 46,300 km journey. Along the way the fifteen two-person teams from 10 nations will win six speed trophies for the fastest two-person crew between each of the route's six key stretches. For a long time the crews will live in a tiny cabin, survive on freeze-dried food and sleep in shifts of just a few minutes at a time. Trust and harmony between them will be essential, as they will be racing in some of the world’s most dangerous oceans. Thanks to a graphical tracking system on the official website, fans around the world will even be able to follow live developments, and emotions as they happen. On board cameras will shoot the adventure, the crises, the tension and the successes. Follow Y&S into an unpredictable world where life can hang in the balance and making the right decisions on board can make the difference between surviving or risking your own life.
