Y&S follows the Tour de France à la Voile, on Tuesday 7 September at 9:00 p.m. For this 33rd edition, an ambitious program has been conceived, which shows some of the most beautiful places in France. Between sprints and marathons, the race balances different elements. From Dunkerque to La Seyne sur Mer, this round will be extreme: even thought the route is rather conventional, it is more extreme in terms of distance as it shows either very long or very short offshore legs. The 2010 Tour de France à la Voile includes ten legs for 1000 miles in total. There will be two marathon legs – 200 miles each – between Dieppe and Lorient. Competitors will have to challenge the current title holder “Courrier Dunkerque”. According to the organizers, the first half of the race will be of main importance from a strategic point of view as it will include two coefficient three legs. After these crucial navigations in the Atlantic Ocean and in the Channel, the races in the Mediterranean Sea will be inshore. In the second episode of this compelling series, the race will start from Calais in order to arrive in Dieppe. Depending on the weather, this leg may be twice as long as announced thanks to a buoy to tack located on the British coast.
