We will dive on the world of the sharks, the most wonderful and frightening creatures in the oceans with Shark Gordon, on Y&S every Monday at 9:30 p.m. starting from Monday 6 September. Shark expert Ian Gordon takes viewers under the waters of the oceans searching for encounters with exotic creatures, including the great white shark. In the first episode The Ultimate Predator, Ian explains his theories on hunting and social behaviour of the sharks as he is convinced that they are thinking and social animals, not just cold killing machines. In the second episode, A Whale of a Shark, we follow Ian at Ningaloo Reef, off Australia’s West Coast. Every April and May, some of the largest animals on Earth congregate in this wonderful reef: whale sharks. Ian Gordon sets out to help Dr. John Stevens, of Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, in order to solve a mystery: where these creatures come from and where they go? In Mako – Friend or Foe?, the third episode of the series, Ian is at the Poor Knights Islands, 12 miles off the coast of New Zealand. This place is a popular marine reserve and hunting ground for deadly Mako sharks. Local resident fear new tourist shark diving operations are attracting more than their fair share of sharks. But Ian is convinced that these animals are more interested in fish than divers. He can not resist climbing out of the dive cage to feed them first hand and find out. In the fourth episode, Galapagos Sharks, Ian Gordon takes us to the balmy isolation of the tropical Midway Atoll in the Pacific Ocean. Here, Ian tests the temperament of the Galapagos sharks. He wants to demonstrate that, in spite of their aggressive reputation, these sharks are unlikely to attack unless they are provoked.
